Fixed it. I looked around with a torch and I noticed that the temperature probe was resting on top of the heating element! I fitted it back in place and now getting 200 degrees. I love cheap repairs :D

Looked at diagram for boiler. It seems the only part that is connected to the drain in the condensate trap which is connected to the flue. If I am getting water leaking does this mean I have a leak from the combustion chamber/heat exchanger? Thanks Tim

Thanks for your reply. I rang Worcester Bosch technical support earlier who said this model boiler will only work with their own thermostat. This was rectified with later models. The model I have is Greenstar HE Plus R35. Does what you suggest apply to this model or later model. Thanks Tim

Just to update you all. I took the plunge and removed the PCB. Straight away I could see a burnt out solder joint. A quick clean up of the joint and some new solder and the boiler is now running perfectly. In case anybody else has similar problems I found a company on the web that part...
