    Ahh fantastic! Where can I buy those very thin tiles? I assume there's no problems to be expected with building control using them beneath the coping stones? I can't see why there would be but it's a minor deviation from spec.

    Sadly not, the inner leaf is about 10mm above the outer but on top of that there is GRP profile that has a radius (which was the wrong profile but too late now..) which at it's highest point adds another 20mm = overall inner leaf 30mm above outer. We can't grind through the GRP as it's supposed...

    Hi all, Due to complicated reasons involving the wrong trims for a GRP roof, the final level of the inner leaf of our extension walls is now between 20-30mm (30mm at highest point) higher than the outer leaf. We now have to put the coping stones on and are wondering how to bridge the gap...

    Thanks. That is indeed the wording/intent of the regs but the final test can only be if the finished roof achieves at least 1:80, whatever it was designed to achieve. As you say, it probably won't even get looked at anyway... I just like to be correct by the regs for the sake of not worrying...

    'Yes' to what bit? The roof will sag, they all do - but starting with the 50mm fall over 3m is that too little? The 50mm fall along the 5.4 gulley definitely will not sag, it can't.

    You can pre-expand them a little so they're very snug on the drilled hole and then they'll grab as you tighten them - sometimes requires a little agitation to get them to grab initially. You'll find that a lot easier than reducing your already drilled 16mm holes to 15mm :) Although as above...

The prices I see online at a quick glance seem crazy high, £25 ish per 2400x600 board. I have a trade account at local dealer which gets me down to about £20.. Still seems quite high...

    I'm fixing them to a ledger plate just 195mm tall, looks like the strong tie hangers all have longer 'legs' than that - unless I'm looking at the wrong ones.

    The manufacturer say that nails alone are sufficient and the SWL value is based on only nails.. However, I am going to bolt the hangers that carry the lantern trimmers through the ledger plate and into the blockwork behind, using studs set in resin. Seems like it's worth that little extra effort.

    This is my view - it should be fine and I have certainly made sure there is sufficient vents around the new extension and connected air passages through to the existing house floor void, all by the book and I really can't see how a few high spots of concrete will effect the overall requirement...

    It's deeper than it looks... The soil on the outside of the ply shuttering was dry so the sides has slumped during excavating. The guy pouring the concrete saw the resulting deep wedge shape gap as the ideal place to lose the last half tonne or so of concrete! I would guess the bit you think...
