    Mixing up yellow mortar (Sandstone?)

Hello everyone, I am doing some brickwork for the first time, bricking up a flue hole in my wall. As I am a newbie to this job, I had assumed I just popped to the builder's merchant and grabbed a tub of "yellow" mortar. Because, to my untrained eye, mortar between red bricks is yellow (picture...

Beko prosmartInverter not taking water after tap change

Sorted by refitting old valve - non-return part of the new valve has a date with a hammer and punch to 'convert' it to a regular valve

Beko prosmartInverter not taking water after tap change

Morning all, probably a plumbing Q but fault manifests in the appliance. This should've been a simple job - my 30+yr old washing machine tap blew a seal and I've replaced it with a new tap with integrated one way valve. The tap is installed the correct way round - and works, and the water is...

    Budget Wireless Thermostat

Evening all, Just removed my old non-working wall thermo - which it turns out was from a previous timer/thermo install - and am wanting to go wireless (I have a Baxi 105e boiler and generic (Lifestyle?) digital timer). I remember reading on this forum about budget wireless therostats - I think...

[Resolved] Baxi 105e - No Flame on HW - CH fine

10K resistor fitted (briefly) and she fired straight up. Thermistor ordered. Thank you all for your help - and being kind enough to warn me if you thought I was going to do something unsafe. Thanks again, Steve

Great thanks Agile - I assume then that the thermistor has an operating range of 4k (hottest) - 12k (coldest) outside of which a thermistor error light will be triggered on the boiler. Following the above logic, if the thermistor has failed and is showing a low value which is not out of range...

Defo - I have a bunch of parts (incl various resistors but no pots) for Arduino projects (one of which is due Saturday, but I'm faffing with this darned boiler), so I'm sure I could cobble something together with 11Kohm value to use for a brief test.

Cheers Hertsboilers - I checked Baxi out and they do cover it (it was installed in 2010) it will be the usual £300 for repair + 1year cover. My ma's boiler guy is good too (swapped their combi last year - reasonable rate and quick / tidy work) but quite busy, so will see if he can quote also...

[Resolved] Baxi 105e - No Flame on HW - CH fine

I'm reluctant to make a new thread unless mods think it helpful so have provided a chronology in the first post above, which I will keep up to date. I'm currently on Day 4, the boiler has been serviced but no firm diagnosis has been made of why there is no ignition on the HW side. Grateful for...

[Resolved] Baxi 105e - No Flame on HW - CH fine

That's right gasguru - I did state above that it was working, but by the time I got round to having a shower it was back to square 1 - showing those same symptoms again: - diverter microswitch activated.by diaohragm; - pump running; and - no flame. Perhaps the HEX needs cleaning as well, as...

[Resolved] Baxi 105e - No Flame on HW - CH fine

The boiler has (again) changed staus overnight and is now magically working. I had the service company out today anyway (it was last serviced Jan 14) to service it / check the sensors etc. They had the service record for the boiler and it had a recent diverter valve replacement, so it seems the...

Cheers Gasguru, I'll try and locate it and look for 10K ish. I found a sticker on the side of the boiler saying it hadn't been serviced since Jan 2014 so I've called the people whose sticker it was and they're coming Wednesday.

Baxi 105e no HW - OLD THREAD - See new one

Thanks Bernard, There is a company's sticker on the boiler - looks like they've ben servicing it for a few years now. I'll give them a bell.

Baxi 105e no HW - OLD THREAD - See new one

Hi Picasso - apologies for the confusion - in relation to your first post the pump proving switch was being operated fine by the rod in the pump. I have taken your advice and started a new thread - perhaps the mods can close this one? - so we can deal with the potential thermistor issue. The...
