Great, the other option I guess would be remove the old lath and plaster off and then reboard so it runs into the wood but I think youre saying that the stop bead would do the same thing?

Afternoon, I'm just curious what type of finish would be best for the plastering of the ceiling where it runs into the wood from the staircase landing section in the picture? Plan was to have that skimmed but I'm not sure how it's gonna look and how it ties into the wood. Please see pic

To be fair I don't I'm just presuming it's not because the fittings are copper. It was installed about 15 years ago when we moved in and had the new bathroom fitted. I can't see any writing on the exposed pipes.
