    Paint disaster

Haven't got the vouchers yet, but I'm guessing they will be dulux decorator centre ones. Maybe I should have pressed them for some more compensation because I've wasted something like 12 hours scraping the old junk off and getting back to white matt.

    Paint disaster

I tweeted dulux and they are sending me a voucher. I've also no idea why this has happened, I can only think the batch of paint was bad. I bought two tins of the same batch and they both did this crazy cracking. I even did a test on some backing paper, first a coat of dulux matt emulsion, then...

    Paint disaster

Couple of weeks ago I mist coated some new plaster skim with 10% watered down leyland contract matt, last week I did the final colour paint on the ceiling and this week I did the walls. I did the ceiling with 10% watered down Dulux Easycare Bathroom Brilliant White and this week I did the walls...

    Fused spur question

Many thanks for the replies. Sounds like I could probably get away with what I initially planned and it'd be perfectly safe. I do like the idea of another cable to the lighting circuit though as this would be really easy to install as the bathroom is half way through a refurb and the wall...

    Fused spur question

Last week I ripped a load of dodgy wiring out of the conservatory and I want to redo it. I had a 2.5mm cable coming through the bathroom wall from the socket ring, connected to a junction box which then fed a socket and a 5 amp fused spur connected to another junction box which connected the...

No room for soil pipe, need to improvise

    (y) Yep, I was thinking of using one of those Alpine flexible pan connectors. They do a rigid 14 degree one too, not sure that would be enough of a drop tho.

No room for soil pipe, need to improvise

Guys, hope someone can help. I'm a competent DIYer that's doing up my bathroom. I'm moving a toilet, the plan was to just drill straight out the wall and then connect to soil stack. Unfortunately, there's a conservatory right behind the wall I need to drill through. The soil stack goes...

Should I have installed my composite door plumb or parallel?

Many thanks everyone - seems the consensus is that I've done it right installing it plumb. I'll add some side trims to try and improve it!

Should I have installed my composite door plumb or parallel?

Should have mentioned its an outward opening door. It would swing open outwards, but not a big deal. Better than swinging inwards and smacking any cars in there.

Should I have installed my composite door plumb or parallel?

Plumb? Sounds like I've done it right then. Its a detached double garage with single layer of brickwork and double brick pillars as a door frame. Can't see any cracks so it's probably just settled slightly on the wonk.

Should I have installed my composite door plumb or parallel?

Hello all, just wondering if you could provide any advice on something that's been bugging me for the last couple of days. I installed a replacement composite door into my garage last Saturday, when I was plumbing up the frame I noticed that the entire wall was off plumb by maybe 3/4 inch. I...
