Sorry to bring this back up, and thanks for all the responses. Still no joy, and my mum is now in hospital for an operation so I am going to have another go at sorting it. I have fitted a gate valve in the flow to the HW but when you open it a small amount that still causes issues with the CH...

    problem with CH

thanks for the reply - the pump speed is on the middle setting from memory, and the cylinder stat seems to be fine - I unclipped the motorised valve and manually set it to open to rule it out.

vented system drawing in air - help needed

Many thanks for the replies. Can anybody tell me what the valve is in the bottom left of the picture - it's tee'd off the cold feed to the cylinder and then disappears under the floor. [/img]

vented system drawing in air - help needed

Hi I would REALLY appreciate help with the following. My mum has a vented system with an old Ideal Mexico floor standing boiler which seems to be drawing in air. She is 74 so will be eligible for a new boiler next year so we are trying to keep this one going until then. I replaced a faulty...

plumbing in sink - quick question

Hi I am plumbing in a sink unit next to our bath - the 40mm waste pipework for the bath is a couple of inches above the floor level and this height can't be easily altered. This means the pipe runs out of the bath panel along the wall - the problem is that the sink unit has drawers and I...
