  • Phone call will be to sound you out and see if you know your stuff.
My interview lasted 2 3/4 hours and it was several papers basically testing my knowledge.
The first one was about 25 multiple choice questions about general gas safety etc.
Then there was a paper that asked to identify allcomponents of a combi boiler.
Last paper was to identify all components of an unvented cylinder installation.
Then there was verbal questioning about various safety stuff too.
26/9 checks, ventilation, flueing, electrical safety checks etc.
I was told by the agency that I applied to for the job to swot up prior to the interview.
I didn't bother doing any reading up as I have been doing this job for 38 years and have never had a problem with exam type conditions.
I was told that I was the strongest candidate by the agency guy and an hour later Vaillant phoned me to offer me the job - I accepted it straight away.
The job offer is conditional on a satisfactory CRB check and also a medical at your own doctors that they will pay for.
There is 14 weeks specialist manufacturers training to do at Belper , Derbyshire.
You get a van supplied with full private use including fuel too.
Hopefully this helps you and good luck.
I will be covering the GU postcode area (Guildford, Surrey)
