i have a multimeter in my container, will retrieve it in the morning and check for 240v on Ch demand. All connections seem fine and tight. Thank you both for your help tonight. I will post again once I've checked with my MM :)

The boiler and the Hive are fed from a fused switched spur to the side of the boiler. It works fine once disconnected from the Hive.

Having it switched on doesn't make any difference unfortunately. Once it's all working I will fix the cable down properly.
