    Rendering a timber plywood build

thanks for that - Ill give them a call and see what they say. I know that it is a 3 coat system - i.e. base coat, dash receiver and then the textured finish. I was really hoping to get some feedback from non-biased users of k-rend (or anything similar) and to find out how they used it

    Rendering a timber plywood build

hi, Im wondering if anyone can provide help on the best way to wet dash a new 18mm plywood build. I know that I need a lath product, like Rendalath - but what should I use on top of that for my render? I have had some tradesmen out to quote for the work and most were going with standard...

Hi, I dont have a tank in the house, just a combi boiler Also dont have a water meter I dont personally believe that this issue is caused by a burst mains pipe, but I cant think of any other reason why I would be getting this dirt in my water

Possible leak/crack in water mains - advice needed

no work has been done and I dont have any water filters or softeners either. Ill try the trick with the screwdriver tonight and see if I hear anything. If I do then is there any way that I can locate this leak before I rip up my drive. Obviously I dont want to be doing that, especially if...

Possible leak/crack in water mains - advice needed

I should maybe add that the water itself is still crystal clear, its not discoloured in any way. the dirt thats coming through is really small, the size of grains of sand. The dirt doesnt seem to smudge if I rub it in sink/bath, but I can rub it away if I have some on my fingers. not sure...

Possible leak/crack in water mains - advice needed

its the hot and cold. If I do hear water running then what does that indicate? that I have a leak before or after the stopcock? I only have a small leak/crack then would this technique still work? I assume this will work for any type of screwdriver? Thanks for your reply

Possible leak/crack in water mains - advice needed

Hi, Over the last couple of days I have noticed some grit or dirt in my water. The water board have been out and say its not their problem and neither of my neighbours have this problem. So that indicates a problem with my water supply only. The grit/dirt is coming out of every tap, but...

    Sound proof loft conversion

thanks so if I just fill the joists with as much rockwool as will fit (without squeezing it) you think that will make a difference? I was thinking of that, before actually, and also maybe stapling some insulation across the joists (the thin silver bubble wrap style stuff you get) - you...

    Sound proof loft conversion

Hi, Im looking for ways to cut down outside noise to my loft conversion. In the loft is the main bedroom and the noise from outside can be quite annoying at times so I would like to minimise it. I was thinking that I could put some insulation (the solid stuff that you squeeze into joists -...

hi My rads are the right size as far as I can see. I have turned the boiler up and that has made a difference. You are correct though, Im not 100% on how to work a combi boiler & trvs - Im new to them. I just didnt think I would need my boiler up as high to get a decent temp from my...

    Danfoss TRV Help

Hi, I think that all my TRV's are set to cut off at 18 degrees - is this possible? No matter what setting I put my TRV on, the room never seems to go much higher than 18. I would think that I should be getting to the low 20's on my highest setting. I found the invoice for the...
