    Loud bang when cistern filling

Yes, but they didn't seem to know a fix other than fitting a hammer arrestor, which considering the pipes are behind a tiled wall wasn't practical. Happy to say that I have found the solution. I replaced the ALCA A106P filling valve with a Fluidmaster 747EL (due to 3/8" fitting) and the...

    Loud bang when cistern filling

Thanks Harry Attempted both turning the stop tap down and reducing the flow fill valve behind the flush plate. No change until the fill valve was practically closed which then created a loud long rumble until it closed.

    Loud bang when cistern filling

Thank you both for your responses. Is this stuff that can be accessed through the flush plate? The bathrooms are complete with the in wall toilet frames tiled in.

    Loud bang when cistern filling

Hi, We have recently had two bathrooms renovated. When we flush the toilet in both bathrooms we hear a loud bang when the cistern has finished filling. The thud can also be heard from the airing cupboard. We also hear what sounds like a pipe rattling loudly as the cistern starts to fill in the...

    HW/CH Noise

Hi Gas112 Thank you for the response. I was aware of this feature but thought it only operated if the boiler hadn’t been used for 24 hours. We’ve had our CH on every day for last few weeks. Do you think the system isn’t picking this up?

    RSJ Installation

Thanks Noseall, that looks spot on and the finish looks perfect. Attached some further photos where you can see the steel coming off the goal post and a packer on the other side. As mentioned above steel is flush with outer brickwork also.

    RSJ Installation

Thanks Jono, appreciate the response. We also have a steel coming off the goal post supporting the first floor where we removed a load bearing wall between the kitchen and dining room. This was installed within the ceiling void with joist hangers and has made our floor have a slight raised...

    RSJ Installation

Hi, I've recently had a RSJ installed to enable some bifold doors. The RSJ sits on a goal post inside the cavity on one side and a pad stone on the other. It has a welded plate to support the outer brickwork. The welded plate is not sitting directly on the outer brickwork and has had a small...

    Unvented Cylinder Installation.

First time poster here... I recently had an unvented cylinder installed replacing an old gravity fed system. The installer ran a new 22mm speed fit pipe to the unvented cylinder which he suggested would be better than copper with multiple 90 bends. However, due to speed fit pipe requiring...
