will same mixer shower work with different pressures?

Thanks. I might be able to, it just seems a waste to replace a boiler that is working fine and might have another year or two's life in it. Likewise, seems a shame to put a new power shower in when I'm going to have to replace it as and when the boiler gets changed. Suppose I could try and sell...

will same mixer shower work with different pressures?

Hello, Currently I have a gravity-fed immersion cylinder (+ a gas boiler for radiators) and a power shower that is packing up. My aim is to move to a more normal combi boiler setup with a regular mixer shower, however I'm wondering if I can do this in 2 stages rather than replace the boiler...

Do I need a washer on my flexi hose?

    Thanks. That's done it.

Do I need a washer on my flexi hose?

I've a leaking joint where my flexible tap connector connects to the (metal) tap tail. The flex connector only seems to have a metal washer (see pic) I can't get the damn thing to seal. The surfaces both look sound, I've already tried PTFE tape on the tail thread. I notice some hoses have...

Installing bathroom fan in existing hole

Thanks, I think cement's a good option. Do you think it's worth sticking some pipe on it and cementing it, or good enough to just have the fan without any pipe?

Installing bathroom fan in existing hole

I am installing a bathroom extractor fan. There is an existing vent hole in the bathroom wall (rectangular, about 4 bricks volume, with metal grills inside and out). I want to fit the fan in this rather than make a new hole. And I want to retain the external metal grill so as not to change the...

    Painting a fireclay Fireback?

There's no fire installed, but I don't want to block the fireplace up. Left with a dirty, discoloured fire back. Thinking of cleaning and painting it. In case a fire is installed later, I figure the paint should be heat-resistant, non-toxic etc. Can't find any mention of doing such a thing...

    Tiling kitchen splashback

If I've followed you right, I've got the same in my kitchen - part tiles under the cupboards, overhung with pelmets. The non-cupboard wall just follows the "last full tile", so there's basically a continuous line along the top of the tiles here and the bottom of the pelment. It looks fine.

    painting clay fire-back?

Hello. I have an open, unused fireplace, which I don't want to close up. The fireback looks shabby (sooty and marked), so I want to clean and paint it. I'm thinking, maybe use floor paint - good/bad idea, other suggestions? Thanks, John

Cutting a way behind kitchen cabinets...

Thanks John. I cut the holes as you describe. But, unfortunately not enough clearance for a jigsaw blade so instead I drilled a line of holes (a shed load of holes...) to make the cut. Now it's cleaned up and ventilated, hopefully issue fixed.

Cutting a way behind kitchen cabinets...

Hello, I believe I have mould behind a kitchen corner cabinet (it smells and powdery mould is deposited inside the cabinet). Cleaning and airing with the door open have proved insufficient. I suspect the mould is on the external walls behind the cabinet. I would like to treat it without...

What is this on my wall?

Hello, 2 images of my living room wall. I've stripped the wallaper and found - There is a grey plaster Above that is a thin yellowish layer marked with a green pattern. It flakes off like paint. Above that is an orange-ish layer. The green pattern only appears on the lower section...
