John I have to be honest I was using the oil that we put in the trucks at work. They are diesel and turbo so I thought if it was ok for an artic lorry it would be ok in my car am I wrong ?

John is that fully synthetic oil cos I believe thats what Renault advise ? I do aim to keep up with my oil changes etc his time mind ;) I am still stunned that I drove about 40 miles with the turbo really screaming and yet it never disintegrated.

Thanks for your help I did order a turbo unit in the end as you say its probably better to get a unit thats been rebuilt professionally, mind you at least they threw a gasket set in for free :) Mind you there is a U tube video on how to rebuild a turbo and it does look very easy

Well today saw me take the dreaded turbo unit out and what a fiddly job that was. Just to really improve my mood I slipped and put a minute hole in the rad as well lol. (Dont ask ok lol) The turbo bearings are gone, the blades are all totally intact but the centre shaft moves from side to...

I have a 1.9 03 Laguna DCI and I believe the turbo is blown. The car has 108,000 miles on the clock and I have had it since new. At 54.000 miles the engine blew up, revved its head off, smoke, would not turn off etc, etc. Renault paid the whole cost of the repair. New engine, new...

    Central Heating

Thanks for the advice and I might well do that I have changed a few parts in it before so I am not a total idiot but I am a bit baffled that it starts immediately every time.

    Central Heating

To be honest the controls are all pretty basic. The progammer is part of the boiler and the only other parts are a room stat, a tank stat, a pump and a motorised valve. The only odd thing is the pilot light seems to go out when the bottom cover is on the boiler if you leave the bottom cover...

So the most likely thing is the motorised valve then ? The system is about 25 years old and I do live in a hard water area which as an electrician I know can mess the valves up

The boiler is a Myson Apollo with a string of numbers after it 15/30/. 30/50. 40 and 50/65 so it must be one of them lol

    Central Heating

I have a simple problem and think I might know the answer so I am really looking for confirmation. Even with my stat turned right down if my boiler starts to heat hot water then my radiators still get hot. This is the same even if I switch my boiler over to hot water only. Can I assume...

    What a disaster

Hi anyone and everyone. Like a typical DIY dunce off I went and bought tiles and adhesive from Wickes for my kitchen floor. I bought a big tub of ready mixed adhesive and grout I know more expensive but easier. Anyway three quarters of the way thru tiling I have noticed that the tiles are...
