John I have to be honest I was using the oil that we put in the trucks at work. They are diesel and turbo so I thought if it was ok for an artic lorry it would be ok in my car am I wrong ?

John is that fully synthetic oil cos I believe thats what Renault advise ? I do aim to keep up with my oil changes etc his time mind ;) I am still stunned that I drove about 40 miles with the turbo really screaming and yet it never disintegrated.

John Are you telling me it might not be my turbo thats faulty <yikes>

Thanks for your help I did order a turbo unit in the end as you say its probably better to get a unit thats been rebuilt professionally, mind you at least they threw a gasket set in for free :) Mind you there is a U tube video on how to rebuild a turbo and it does look very easy

Thanks for the advice and I might well do that I have changed a few parts in it before so I am not a total idiot but I am a bit baffled that it starts immediately every time.

To be honest the controls are all pretty basic. The progammer is part of the boiler and the only other parts are a room stat, a tank stat, a pump and a motorised valve. The only odd thing is the pilot light seems to go out when the bottom cover is on the boiler if you leave the bottom cover...

So the most likely thing is the motorised valve then ? The system is about 25 years old and I do live in a hard water area which as an electrician I know can mess the valves up

The boiler is a Myson Apollo with a string of numbers after it 15/30/. 30/50. 40 and 50/65 so it must be one of them lol
