I had the same problem.
After a very long investigation......
Only suspecting this part while looking at the boiler......
Pressure went from 0.8 bar to 2.0bar when it was not running.
It was the actual pressure sender.
Nothing wrong with anything else, just giving false readings.
£20.00 for...
Sorry all if I have overstepped the mark.
6 radiators, Tony.
6 small, (about 600 x 600mm) 1 large 2400 x 500 K2.
Yesterday, watched the temperature & pressure all day while the boiler did its thing.
Most of the time, it was very predictable, slight pressure rise as temperature went up...
Long story short......
I'd written a very long post with unusual temperature / pressure readings.
I lost the post somehow.
The jist was......
In the middle of a long constant heating session, the pressure went from a constant 2.2Bar down to1.4Bar then went back up again after about 2...
Yesterday evening......
Didn't use any hot water.
Powered boiler up. Thermostat calls for heat.
From 1.8Bar,
28 degrees, 2.1Bar.
gradual rise. 5 minutes later, boiler throttles up.
Runs flat-out until temperature is 60 degrees (where I'd set it) at 2.3 bar.
Boiler maintains this then...
Update.
Pressure with boiler isolated from heating pipework has remained rock steady at 1Bar for several hours.
I powered off the boiler (so it didn't light) and ran the bathroom hot tap slowly for about a minute.
Powered boiler back on......Pressure is now steady at 1.7Bar.
Is this...
Cats & Dogs at the moment.
With the heating valves closed, can the boiler be used for making hot water? Will this cause any problems? Might it help in the diagnosis?
Ian.
I did that,......
"I topped it up for the first time in 6 months. (1Bar) made water, heated the house. This morning, no pressure again. "
It didn't cure whatever the problem is, the pressure went again.
Ian.
Hi all.
Thanks for the previous help, I'm back here with my boiler's first problem.
(Vaillant Ecotec pro 28 ) 2.5 years old.
Sorry if this is long-winded, I'm trying to give you as much information as possible.
Yesterday morning, no hot water. I checked the boiler to find 0.3Bar pressure...
I have one of these fitted.

Very quiet, shifts plenty of air. Adjustable run-on timer...
Hi Again All.
After my old troublesome heating setup, I finally had a complete
new instalation with a Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 boiler.
Despite the installers best attempts, due to the very long route outside my house, the condensate froze.
I have now (after a lot of effort, run it inside)...
Why is that?
It will have a vertical fall of about 3 feet before it goes horizontal for 6 feet then vertical the rest of the way.
What will the problem be with the horizontal part?
I CAN make it have a small fall but only by drilling about 6 joists at differing heights.
Is horizontal...
Using the "end" fitting from the kit, I could then use a continuous
piece of this stuff rather than have a joint half=way......

It may also not be ribbed internally...
I'd though of doing exactly that. Then I thought I might as well run it inside. Do it as it should have been done from day one.
I know the fitter was fully aware of the freezing problems which is
why he made a good effort but the wall is North facing on top of a carport
and really suffers...
Hi all again & thanks for previous help.
Briefly......Had my old boiler out and a new Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 fitted.
Fitted in Airing cupboard upstairs, where old DHW tank was.
All lovely until this winter. I watched the (Gas Safe) people fit the boiler.
The condensate runs vertically...
Can't help but notice......he mentions having to keep the oil warm
with an immersion heater. I presume it is too viscous if cold.
The price of petrol has gone down a bit lately, wouldn't it be a better idea
using petrol for this setup instead? Keep things a bit more simple?
