Tower Shower just won't stop leaking!

Sorry for the delay in replying to this - thought I'd give an update as a bit of closure in case anyone ends up in the same situation. Try as I might the leak wouldn't stop - it seemed to work its way out of unit in different ways no matter what I replaced, and so the more I became convinced...

Tower Shower just won't stop leaking!

The retailer has politely told me to sling my hook as apparently it only came with a 12 month warranty (it's coming up to almost two years due to the time to renovate the place)

Tower Shower just won't stop leaking!

Bought a tower shower unit a while back - it was fitted as part of a house refurb but the place is unoccupied so the shower has never been used after the inital test on first fitting. I've now discovered the unit is leaking and after a lot of checking and re-checking of connections, I've found...

Heating woes - is it my pump or something else?

So by way of a quick update, this is still (sort of) an issue. I ended up changing the pump to an Alpha to see if the automatic curve function would help. It didn't (although the pump does run quieter and seems a lot more efficient). But the system would still keep cutting out and was still...

Heating woes - is it my pump or something else?

A bit later on with this and I'm still stumped. The D40 and D41 temps show a difference of 14C and that doesn't alter no matter how much I downrate the boiler. If I downrate to 30kw then the rads struggle to heat up at all. Down to 26kw and the radiators won't warm up at all. The bypass gate...

Heating woes - is it my pump or something else?

Thanks all - lots of stuff to try there so will give it a go

Heating woes - is it my pump or something else?

Apologies, I had bed brain last night when posting - the boiler is the Ultracom 38 Hxi (condensing boiler not a combi). It was a six bedroom house (but some very small rooms have been knocked into one now, so it's a 4 bed). Also should have said I've already taken the TRV's off the two...

Heating woes - is it my pump or something else?

Yep, no sign of them being blocked (got a bit wet in the process of checking but the water seemed to be flowing fine). Two - one on the run just before the hot water tank and the other on the run just before the pump. Forgot to say both were replaced as part of this (probably about two years ago)

Heating woes - is it my pump or something else?

Hoping someone can offer me some guidance before I tear what's loeft of my hair out. It's a very long short (5 years in the making) but will try to keep it short; Property is a large one, with 17 radiators in total between the ground and first floor. Boiler is a Glow Worm Ultracom 38cxi...

    PIR coach lanterns keep breaking?

All the electricians (so that's initial fitter, plus the two I called in to look at the problems) sealed them up all the way around the wall plate. Forgot to say in my last post that the ones I've put back this weekend, I've also left the underside open as an extra precaution.

    PIR coach lanterns keep breaking?

Once again thanks to everyone for the input. I'm only at the property on weekends at the moment, so trying the advice given has taken a while, but there's a bit of an update for those still interested. Took the bottom fixing screws out of the lights with the apparent `condensation` in the PIR...

    PIR coach lanterns keep breaking?

Thanks for the comments all, it's taken me until this weekend to try things out. No Powerline adapters in use - I can't think of anything similar being used that could cause interference (only thing I can possibly think of is a mains wired house alarm but that's on a separate circuit if that...

    PIR coach lanterns keep breaking?

Ah that makes sense now - but no, each has its own separate PIR on the unit so they operate independent of one another. (these are the ones tttp://www.screwfix.com/p/asd-100w-black-coach-lantern-wall-light-pir-included/51500) Beginning to wonder if it's just really crappy build quality and...

    PIR coach lanterns keep breaking?

Hi all, I'm after some advice about my external lights. I know nothing about electrics so wondered if someone could throw me some pointers about what could be going on. Have several coach style PIR lanterns on the outside of the house (the ASD ones sold by Screwfix). Getting some odd behaviour...

Loft boarding - eaves, wallplates and insulation

In a bit of a topic bumping style, I measured the gap between the rafters and the floor at the narrowest point I can get to - at best there's only a 37mm gap. So 25mm EPS will barely fit and leave very little gap for ventilation (it's the old bitumen felt too, so no breathable membrane to...
