So I started this project because like most people I just didn't have enough space in my house or anywhere to keep my fishing gear or my Sunday league football teams kits and nets the type of stuff that gets too dirty to keep in the house.
I began to build my shed at the end of January 2012 and think I finished it to how it is now around April 2012 working mostly just weekends on it. I went with just a single skin to try an keep the cost down as I didn't want to spend an absolute fortune on it. I decided I would put a flat roof on in the end again a decision based on the cost.
It has turned out how I planned at the beginning and this was only how I intended to keep it. However after watching too many of the George Clarke's amazing small spaces series I have decided I would like to change it and have a shed that looks more like a log cabin.
Hopefully as soon as the weather permits I will be changing the roof so it has 2 hips on it and using rosemary tiles on the roof. I am also hoping to build a small chimney on it as well a bit much I know but just think it would look good. I am going to have just a single door on it so its a bit more secure and also cover it with wooden cladding.
Having the second wettest year on record has not helped and my original plan that single skin might be OK has well an truly been laughed at. However I think (and hope) using the timber cladding will stop the damp that has occurred due to the amount of rain we have had.
See what happens over the next couple of months and I will keep this updated. Any advice or criticism you have please do let me know as it will all be taken on board as we all can learn from our mistakes.
Thanks
