    Thanks guys, it is a multi-fuel stove that's going in rather than an open fire, so hopefully the bricks shouldn't get too hot! We're really after a lighter finish than black, so might end up going for the emulsion than blackboard paint, etc...can't seem to find any tougher paints in anything...
