OK - Thanks. If the over-run timer is faulty, will this stop the pump dead in its tracks?

Seen several related posts to this but not my specific problem. Tripped the ring main RCD last night - after resetting, couldn't operate the boiler for HW/CH. Eventually traced the problem to the circulating pump (won't operate). Tested all the feeds into/out of the controller and boiler...
