Moving the lever only opens the valve for the water, it has no effect on the boiler firing.
The electrical circuits need to be properly energised to fire the boiler.

manually opening the valve using the lever operates the micro switch which fires the boiler
from what you can see in the joint box, valve 1+2 seem to be heating zones?. you can see the 2 brown motor wires connected together,but no sign of a switch wire connected to open them.
the scr receiver is just a single chanel...
was your old heating, gravity hot water + pumped central heating ?
if it is you may have to remove small link in the back of programmer.
hw on fires up boiler only.
ch on fires up boiler + pump (if ch on the hw is also on)
look on rcd, should say rating + milli amp rating
ie, 40amp 30ma(milli amp)
if your ma rating is higher ie 100ma buy new if not get existing tested to make sure it trips between correct times.
2 reds are live in - live out
the other 2 are the light switch wires
turn the power off
put the 4 reds into seperate plastic connectors
turn power on
test with meter for power on 1 red & mark live in
connect 1 other red at a time to live in & mark what it controls
and do the same with...
fit one of these or similar
