Accessability to fit a pump - I'm presuming that since the installation was done by a plumber, he found the same problem hence not fitted originally- although having said that why did he fit the F and E tank below level of part of pipework run!!
We have 3 radiators fed by a non pumped gravity fed system linked to a back boiler on an oil fired AGA. The system was fitted a couple of years ago by someone who has now emigrated to NZ. The AGA is in a ground floor Kitchen and the 3 radiators on the first floor
The radiators are controlled...
Have just repaired a leak on a compression 40mm waste elbow(tightened it) which is on a fairly long run of waste pipe (c 18-20m) with minimum fall. Once the leak was fixed, the sink connected would not drain properly.
There is an anti-vac trap on the trap - if this is puhed gently with...
I want to fit a thermostatic Shower valve which requires 22mm /3/4" Hot and Cold Feeds in a bathroom that is piped with 15mm pipe.
What will be the result/effect of branching off the 15mm pipe with 22mm pipe to the shower valve or is it acceptable to use a 15mm reducer fitting directly into...

Thanks for the advice DP- I appreciate the dangers of unvented systems it just seems very frustrating when those qualified for bomb disposal (ie G3 )can't be bothered to take their qualification seriously and leave those of us with a potential bomb, sitting on it for six weeks despite numerous...
The high temperature cut out needs replacing on my Unvented indirect Cylinder - confirmed by heating engineer who didn't have part or time to change it when doing annual service - I have been waiting for him to come back for six weeks but still no date set - I have ordered part myself.

I am currently replacing an old bath room suite - the hot water supply is from a Vaillant Combi ( recently installed ) and hot water supply pipe is 15mm - the existing bath has both hot and cold supplied by 15mm pipe - would the hot water tap/and or cold be better served by 22mm pipe or doesn't...
You evidently Know your stuff - I found a sticker on the boiler and then found the original heating engineer was still in business( his son now does the work) - he told me that Servowarm originally installed system in 1975 ! it also has steel pipework - Thanks for all the advice everyone no pics...
I am helping my son renovate his first house. The Central heating boiler is a Baxi Solo (not combi) but the system does not appear to have a traditional Feed and expansion tank. The radiator in the bathroom has a feed into the "flow" pipe from a wall mounted plastic "ornamental tank"(about 3...
I will try to explain more clearly.
