Ok so i have progressed slightly. The joist are the same length as the old ones and the fascia is just as thick so the overall length from wall to the front of the fascia is the same as it was previously. The height of the joist on the other hand....they were 120mm which has to be cut to 105mm...

Ok so im re-roofing and doing the soffits and fascias at the same time. If ripped off all the old ones and started by replacing all the rotted rafter legs (feet/noggins??) To fix the new soffits and fascias to..... And herein lies the problem..... The rafter legs/feet/noggins whatever they are...
