    Atag Efficiency

I thought most radiators are installed in parallel, however I have seen some images that suggest they may be in series. I suppose it's possible that this one radiator is in series. I'd want to here others opinions, however if you have access to the pipe work, can you change that one to be in...

    Atag Efficiency

The underfloor heating was only and example. If the Lock Shields on your radiators are such that you don't have a huge flow going through them (or maybe you have smart trv's and don't have all radiators open) you could find a similar issue. Either way, good luck :)

    Atag Efficiency

This probably isn't the issue, but one thing I noticed about my ATAG, it has a water flow sensor, and if you do not have enough flow through your system, then the boiler will turn off, even if the water is still cool. I can't remember off the top of my head what the message was when that...

    Replacement flow meters

Afternoon all I've got a set of flow meters in what I believe to be a Polypipe manifold. Historically these have been problematic, I've opened them up in the past and cleaned them out, as well as having the system power flushed when a new boiler was installed. I can see that they have again...

    grundfos pumps

Would it be better to move this discussion to that thread?
  6. W

    grundfos pumps

That is correct. Though, I don't know if that is due to the current pump falling out not. I have wondered also weather the 28mm for return to the bulk of the underfloor heating was sufficiently "easy" that the water is simply following around that loop, and avoiding the radiators in the living...

    grundfos pumps

Thanks for the details. We have quite a bit of underfloor heating, however they have their own pumps, so the boiler pump is only driving the water to the mixer valves and the 6 or so radiators, the bulk of the under floor heating is fed by 28mm pipe (about a meter from the boiler all the way up...

    grundfos pumps

I've got another thread open specifically about the pump replacement, this was more the meaning around the numbers. Interesting about the head required, and the issue vessel. I suppose at the end of the day, the water being pumped up, also has water coming back down again, so not quite the...

    grundfos pumps

Thanks John I'm looking at the 8M as we've had a loft extension done, and from the pump/boiler to the top of the highest radiator is around 7m

    Suitable replacement pump

Morning Jonathan Boiler is situated in the garage, about 7m vertical drop from the top of the highest radiator. Current pump is next to the boiler. This is a massive pressure sealed system.

    Suitable replacement pump

Afternoon all We've recently had a significant amount of building work done, including a loft extension. The current Grundfos UPS2 15-50/60 is very much on it's way out (making a fair amount of noise, historically very much struggled to get heat to the living room). After the work, we have...

Never mind, 130 vs 180 = Port to Port length (basically the distance between the input/output)

    grundfos pumps

Can I just say, I've probably spent the last 2+ hours trying to work out what those number mean. The 50 was easy to find (5m head hight), however I've really struggled to find what the 15 meant! In case you can answer my other question, what's the last number for E.G. ALPHA3 15-80 130 v's...

    Finished floor level for screed

Thanks for that, it gives me some thing to go on (and seems like a very reasonable margin, as opposed to 25mm over 2.2m's!

    Finished floor level for screed

Good Afternoon all. We have got a solid floor layed by a builder, that is screed on top of insulation. It is fairly visible that aside from the screed being quite heavily pitted it is also not very level (significantly higher in one corner sloping down to the other. When I mentioned...
