MR16 bulbs in bathroom keep on blowing out

I'll take a look at the size of the existing cut out to try and find a fitting that matches. The existing MR16 bulb clips into the downlight cover (I couldn't find a picture of these online). Would using this option mean that the GU10 bulb dangles in the existing enclosure or would GU10 fit...

MR16 bulbs in bathroom keep on blowing out

I wasn't around yesterday so just picking this up. So on the 2 lamps where the bulbs keep on failing, it's likely to be the current transformers that's causing it? If I get one of these and replace the existing transformer, I would be able to start using LED GU5.3 MR16 lamps? (I was able to...

MR16 bulbs in bathroom keep on blowing out

Sorry, what's the process for doing that? No dimmers to consider, but it is a bathroom. I thought that a transformer was required in a bathroom to reduce the voltage to 12V?

MR16 bulbs in bathroom keep on blowing out

Hi all, In our bathroom we have 4 MR16 light bulbs (standard ones, not LEDs). 2 work perfectly, 2 have developed a problem where the bulb keeps on blowing out within 2-3 weeks of a bulb being fitted. I’ve been into the loft and looked at the set-up and each one is arranged as follows: Mains...

Loud banging noises when boiler starts up

Thanks for the replies. Some more observations. When this happens, it appears that water does not start circulating in the cylinder cupboard. We have a Grundfos ALPHA2 L circulator pump and only the "power on" light comes on. None of the other pump setting lights come on. Once the system gets...

Loud banging noises when boiler starts up

We have an Ideal icos HE18 boiler and it’s developed a problem where every time the boiler starts up (either hot water or heating) the boiler makes loud banging noises. However, once the boiler has got going properly (which isn’t a given, see below) then it works fine without any issues...

    Problem with Ideal boiler

The noise comes from the boiler and not the central heating pump, unless you mean a pump inside the boiler? Any ideas of how to find a good engineer to fix this (other than randomly looking through yellow pages or googling, which I don't want to do)? Asked a few friends/family but haven't had...

    Problem with Ideal boiler

Yes, there are 2 of them in the cylinder cupboard. These are the ones that have been fitted.

    Problem with Ideal boiler

Recently, a problem has developed with my Ideal icos HE18 boiler. There seems to be 2 things at play: 1) The boiler switches on seemingly randomly when there is no demand for water from the programmer. When this happens the "burner" light is lit or flashing and the pump next to the hot...
