Tap won't turn on head just spins

Again if it's an old tap you may be just as well replacing the whole cartridge rather than replacing the washer, however if its just the washer you want to replace, just take it to the plumbers merchants and see what they've got they should have them in a pack of 2/4, you'll want to give it a...

PROBLEMS RUNNING TWO SHOWERS - CONDENSER BOILER

Well think about it, the electric shower is mains fed, so your dishwasher will be as will your toilet, so if someone uses any of these or opens a cold water tap thats mains fed then the supply to your shower will drop causing the shower's temperature to change. If the upstairs shower is tank...

Fitting Central Heating *now with plan*

His comment was very valid, your explanation was absolute tripe mate tbh, people have posted feedback on the best and *safest* way top perform the task, little plumbing experience and this could turn very nasty. Don't mess around get it done right. And if it was a simple task of just running...

    Draining thru Micro bore pipe

No draining shouldn't be a problem, just find the drain tap, connect a hose to it and empty it, make sure your heating is switched off first though  then just re-fill using the filling loop back to about 1.5 bar but add an inhibitor first as mentioned before.

Fitting Central Heating *now with plan*

 You still need to know the basics of soldering a joint, they may have solder inside but you still need to clean the pipe, use flux, and a lot of people still touch up with solder as well to make sure... so it's not just a walk in the park. As it's been said get an rgi in, you then...

    Baffling Thermostatic Shower Valve Problem

Well on fitting a new shower you usually have to take off the temperature control handle to get to the thermostat and adjust it acordingly to your preferance, turning it with the handles fitted you are restricted on how far you can turn it, the manuals will show you how to do this. Thats what...

    Draining thru Micro bore pipe

Drain down deffinatly. Then add your rad, if you've got a combi fill using the filling loop to top up the system, making sure to add a decent inhibitor. If your on gravity then I'd back fill the system off mains pressure, basically connect a hose to a cold water tap and fill it up, always...

    Baffling Thermostatic Shower Valve Problem

You could try taking the shower vale out and then turn on the the cold supply, so water should run out from the shower casing without going through the valve and see what the flows like, this should also help clear any air thats built up, also theres usually filters on the inlets of the shower...

Fitting bath taps on long side of bath against wall.

Not on a deck mixer no, on single taps they are crap, sure you can see why.. and it's what you said, a 3/4 to 15mm tap connector... and if your doubt your soldering use push fit. Best way install the taps and the tails before putting the bath in place, get the taps on tight, and the tails...

Stop Tap Problem on rising main

contact your local water authority as you should be able to isolate the mains water outside your boundary, ask them if theirs a mains stop cock, if not ask them what to do, usually very helpful. Just don't play around with it too much, especially if you cant shut the water off

Hot water back filling storage tank

thanks for replys. To the first response, I'm not sure if it had started when the pump got installed, i think it might have  i've just started working for the company and the boss asked me to join the discharge pipe to the rainwater pipe as it was constantly flowing  and the...
