Ahh...I was told by moving the thermostat or getting a wireless one could cause some problems ....never thought about the gas fire causing one...Great info..I'll take that into consideration now.

Thank you...I will give that a go and see how it works out...there is no TRV on hallway radiator.

But if I did turn the thermostat down to say 18 when the rest of the house has heated up..then when the rest of the house cools down I would have to then turn thermostat back up to heat the house up again wouldn't I?

The radiator does get Hot...the Hallway is Always Cold....I've no problem with the hallway being cold BUT with the thermostat in there which never reaches any kind of heat, then the boiler just keeps heating and never switches itself off

Hi,the radiator in the hallway is a Double one..the biggest we could get..but the shape of the hallways walls are not big enough to put bigger radiators ..the hallway has open plan stairway in it. And all the door edges (5doors) are insulated.

Thank you for your reply...so then in a nutshell if I were to use 200Kwh of gas exactly over 1 month my total Gas Bill from my supplier would be @ 6p per Kwh = £12.00 ( Not including Standing Charge or VAT)?

Hi guys this may(or may not) be a stupid question...I have a 4kw gas fire (88% efficient) and glass front...I pay currently just under 6p per kilowatt per hour..so if I were to have the fire on for say 5hrs @ 4kw per hour that roughly works out to approx cost of £1.20p for gas used...BUT is...

Hi, the radiator is currently a 700x600 dbl (biggest that can be fitted in hallway due to layout) Hallway is not draughty just cold due to size of hallway...the radiator actually heats up perfectly ....I'm now seeing if I can actually get a dbl 1800 x 600 to fit on the wall where the existing...

It makes no difference if I set it at 15..16..17 for instance then it will not heat the rest of the house to a nice warm temperature as the Hallway does not get warm enough to get the thermostat to kick in.

Hi, I would love to heat the hallway BUT it just does not heat up ( basically at all) and I think if the hallway where the thermostat is NEVER gets to the setting I set it at ie 20..21..22 degrees etc..then it will never turn the boiler off and it will just keep firing away trying to get to...

Hi all,I will try to answer a few questions. ..the hallway does not get warm/hot at all...I would guess the temperature is only around 12 to 15 degrees ( it doesn't get really cold but what you would call ' Fresh/Chilly....because of the way the Hallway is I cannot get another or bigger radiator...
