torch on felts have a rubber/ bitumin backing on them which is activated by a flame from a gas torch and bitumin is with aplied with a pot .
the rolls are more or less the same built up wise apart from the backing and temprature tollerances, torch on being much higher
torch on is easyer/ less messy though many would say is specialised , just a higher fire risk
