Sorted. Took the ‘J’ shaped pipe to City Plumbing. Result is a 1” brass stop end (they didn’t have a plastic version). Pipe now sealed and hopefully no leaks! Thanks to all who replied/offered suggestions. Much appreciated. All the best for ‘25 XRD
