Leaking waste pipes and foul smells

Hello,

Hope the cognoscenti on DIYnot can help.

My daughter has a washing machine in the cupboard next to the main sink - 1½ bowl with waste dispposal.

All 3 ultimately drain through the same waste pipe.

She has had recent problems with the washing machine not draining, the waste disposal not working (it is 13-months old) and the ½ bowl filling up with foul water (pic below).

Picture 2 shows the waste under the main sink (with a s-trap?), the feed from the waste disposal on the left and the black main waste outlet pipe on the right.

Picture 3 shows a wider view including the waste disposal.

Picture 4 shows a P-trap behind the waste disposal. The grey pipe behind the P-trap is from the washing machine.

Picture 5 shows what appears to be evidence of a leak from the waste disposal.

Picture 6 identifies what Christopher Plumber thought was a hole but actually feels mor like a moulding 'nib' in the plastic.

I have tried to remove the insinkerator by twisting the unit closkwise (as viewed from above) but im not sure how much force to apply and don't want to break anything thereby making the situation worse.

Looking at Pictures 2, 3 & 4, the sink waste trap (right) appeare to be higher than the waste disposal trap - will this cause an issue?

The unit doesn't move, twist this bit using the lugs, which can be tight...

Looking at Pictures 2, 3 & 4, the sink waste trap (right) appeare to be higher than the waste disposal trap - will this cause an issue?

Not if the waste to the outside is running clear.

I know that the waste twists off, I said that in my op - but it seemed reluctant to move and I didn't want to force it.

#2 - can't tell if the waste is running clear as the black waste pipe disappears into the floor (I think).
