Surely the presence of a clamp doesn't confirm adequate bonding? The cable could be broken?
Is this the way the continuity would be tested during a PIR? Basically a long lead from the fuse box through the house to the kitchen?
Is there not an easier way of doing it?
I have a socket for appliances in a cupboard near my sink.
If I use a multimeter would it detect continuity from the earth point on the socket to the copper pipes thereby confirming the presence of effective bonding?

Guess what.
Pulled the dishwasher out. The flex is conected with a straight connector. There was a leak on the outlet pipe but not so severe as to cause major problems and the straight connector was getting splashed.

I have my kitchen circuit and conservatory on the RCD due to the conservatory supplying any outlet to the garden. Also the circuit has an FCU supplying a socket in a separate garage...

I am aware of the requirements PartP going forward but have a question.
If I buy or rent a property is it a legal reuirement that there be an RCD in the property and main smoke detectors?
