    In-fill for car port side

The fence is mine but I don't want to affix anything to it, not really keen on something looking like fence panels on the side of the car port either... I quite like the idea of polycarb as it will allow more light in, not sure about the aesthetic. Any opinions on whether I need further timber...

    In-fill for car port side

As in the same clear polycarbonate as the roof?

    In-fill for car port side

I want to fill the gap between the top of the fence and the car port roof pictured here: I'm thinking white uPVC to match the side of the short pitched roof - is this shiplap cladding? I thought I could use fasica board to cover the top horizontal timber length first as that will fit...

Glow-worm flexicom expansion vessel pipe connector nut leaks

Thanks but the one you see in the picture is the replacement so no worries there. Just didn't plan on needing a new EV pipe too. The old one was so bad I had to re-pressurise the system every day the heating had been on, until I figured out to empty one of the rads by half as a temporary...

Glow-worm flexicom expansion vessel pipe connector nut leaks

Yes, definitely wasn't cross threaded, I was screwing the nut on easily with my hand. I think the mating edges just weren't perfectly aligned as I tightened the nut more. Old one was spurting water from the schrader valve when pressed. There was still loads of water in it sloshing around on...

Glow-worm flexicom expansion vessel pipe connector nut leaks

Replaced this expansion vessel today, but couldn't stop the connector leaking (EV was supplied with two fibre washers, I tried one first then both). I did not tighten the nut much at all initially, but that's what I resorted to in the end and have now damaged the pipe. I've got a replacement...

Filling hole in floor surrounding (leaky?) soil pipe

ok thanks, what about filling that hole round the bottom though?

Filling hole in floor surrounding (leaky?) soil pipe

This is what I was confronted with after removing kitchen cabinets and boxing around the soil pipe: Gaping hole marked with the arrow that goes all the way round the back of the pipe too, drops right down into the drain outside. Has apparently never caused us any particular issues though...

Insulating extension rafters - foil tape over first layer?

The plasterboard is bonded to the 50mm insulation that's going on top, so I guess that wont form a vb, and means it would be a good idea to tape all over this layer.

Insulating extension rafters - foil tape over first layer?

I'm currently doing the insulation for newly built kitchen extension that has a pitched roof. This is being done to building regs - 100mm celotex (GA4100) between the (150mm) rafters, coming flush to the internal face of the rafters, then another 50mm + 12.5mm plasterboard will go over the top...

How can I source filling loop "taps" for Glow-worm

Just to let you know these do fit, so thanks for that! Unfortunately I haven't managed to get the screw in for one of the fittings, I guess the beginning of the thread has been mangled by whatever blunt tools have been shoved in there over the years! I can see the thread is intact so...

How can I source filling loop "taps" for Glow-worm

I have one, unfortunately no chance of getting it to the nut and having room to turn it, the access is too restricted.

How can I source filling loop "taps" for Glow-worm

Thanks for that, i'll give these a go. TBH I don't think the filling loop would be that easy - the boiler has been boxed in and I don't really fancy removing it all just for that.

How can I source filling loop "taps" for Glow-worm

Yeah well I was trying to keep the thread simple :) My DIY abilities regarding plumbing stretches to very basic pipework, changing rad valves, draining and refilling the system... how easy is the filling loop replacement?

How can I source filling loop "taps" for Glow-worm

The guy who recently serviced the boiler said he could get them from his supplier for next to nothing, unfortunately he won't supply them to me unless I have some other work done (another story), but he didn't mention the option of replacing the loop entirely...
