My washing machine keeps tripping the mains switch. I have taken the top of and disconnected a lead running through a yellow sleeve at the top of the machine. This is attached to what looks like a thermostat. the machine is now working but to be honest I don't know what I have unattached, and need to replace? any advice would be helpful
