Hello Folks,
Im after some advice from some of you knowledgeable heating engineers.
I own a holiday home and its heated via an OIl Fired Grant Boiler.
The heating is split into TWO ZONES for upstairs and downstairs and also HOT Water.

This is done through a HORSTMANN Channel Plus H37XL programmer, see picture below, at the moment but if I plan to fit a NEST Gen 3 I believe I can get rid of the programmer altogether, is that correct?

Question: How does the wiring from the programmer shown below equate to the NEST Heatlink wiring, is it fairly straightforward? Note: I have already fitted a NEST 3 in my own Gas boiler without any problem and that was only for the heating, ie ON/OFF the hot water is still controlled via the boiler.
Question 2.: Would I get adequate control of my hot water from the NEST or would I be better to leave the programmer in situ and just control it from there but have the heating wired into the NEST?
The holiday home was wired by an electrical company on build so I haven't seen the wiring configuration.
Thanks for any advice/assistance much obliged.

Kind Regards
Alex

Hello again,
Ive just found a wiring diagram for the HORSTMANN H37XL Programmer, will this equate directly across to the NEST Gen 3 heatlink wiring??
Thanks
Alex

Hi Dan,
Thanks for your reply. I did puzzle a bit as to how it was going to control TWO different zones independently.

Hi again,
Are there any internet thermostats out there which would control more than ONE ZONE??
Kind Regards
Alex

Hello Guys,
Yes having 2 Nests would solve the multi zone problem but isnt that a bit messy? Is this something you guys in the trade advise?
I think going for ONE which will do both would be better long term my only question is can a DIYer fit the Honeywell Evohome? Remember I fitted a NEST gen 3 to my own home! Is there much more involved??
Thanks to anyone for your advice
Kind Regards
Alex

can a DIYer fit the Honeywell Evohome?

If you're struggling to understand the wiring diagram for your existing programmer, the answer is probably no. Sorry. Installing Evohome is step above bunging a Nest on the wall.

Get a personal recommendation from Dan (if he's not close to you) or Richard at The Evohome Shop and they'll put you in touch with the right person for the job.

ye give honeywell a ring with a longgggggg beer and they will happily help you out :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Hi Dan,
Could you give me a little feedback on this product regards to what I require I have 10 radiators and the house also has a MegaFlow tank......not sure if that counts as part of the fittings?
Does the Kit comprise of a viewing screen and rad wireless appliances? Im trying to ascertain how many bits I would require!

Have you fitted many of these home heating devices and if so what is the average fitting price.......approx.....I know it will vary considerably across the country.
I have a fairly good comprehension of electrical wiring but little experience of central heating systems. Thanks for any advice you can give me.

Kind regards
Alex
