Coving (90mm) or not?

I'm having my ceilings skimmed tomorrow.

Have chance to put up coving in my kitchen / dining room but cant make mind up.

Ceilings are pretty standard height (2.4m). Kitchen will be a modern country style from Howden's. And dining room will be a modernish look.

Living room, hall etc all have coving currently

Is coving something people are putting in these days or not?

Personally I don't like coving with low ceilings, as it makes them look lower, and to my eyes looks like a scale model of the proper coving you get on high ceilings. When I renovated my house (8 foot ceilings) I took a load of coving out. I think the result is much cleaner, without. It's personal preference though, isn't it?

Opted not to put it in. We have it in all the other rooms but think this will give new kitchen a cleaner more modern look.
