I never get why anyone would choose leccy!
Overall are solar panels any good at reducing annual heating costs? I.E. Hot water through summer
I have 3kw of pv panels and only needed oil boiler on for Hw 3 times in the last 6 weeks.

Especially off-grid electricity. Which can also be pretty unreliable.
Don't suppose you have a handy stream for a hydro powered generator?
Very environmentally unsound.
GSHP and hydro power, or wind + batteries could be a good option.
High capital costs though.
