if the device has a filter?? suggest you may try cleaning it?
Filters are [generally] placed low down near ground level, and concealed behind a flip down door, the filter itself is removed by twisting / unscrewing a handle.
CAUTION these hings tend to hold water, once opened there can be an outpouring of water, suggest you use a basin or similar to catch this outpouring.
