Hi where would you recommend to place a capture pir to cover the door, I will have a door contact fitted. In the middle or in the corner. Also can I mount it normally or angle out at the top to point down to the door ?
Thanks

Which door? The one at the top of the stairs or the one at the bottom? I would probably put it above the door at the bottom of the stairs so that it catches people going up.

PIR's usually work best in a corner because they are better at detecting people walking across the face of them than they are when people walk towards or away from them.

If you must put it at the top then still put it in a corner and it will catch people when they get to the top. Don't bother with angling it, it will look awful and might catch the criminal only a few seconds earlier.

Afraid it’s wired for the top with a door contact on the bottom door, I didn’t even think about putting it in the bottom corner, oh well too late now and maybe they will see it if looking through the glass and give them second thoughts. I will put it in the top right corner.
Thanks
