Hi,

I have a large azalea in the garden, encroaching onto a path and some other plants, it is about 3m high and about 5m across, orange flowers early in the year. Are they tempermental about pruning, or can I trim it at any time of year?

Late summer or early autumn so it can heal quicker.

If it's one of the deciduous ones then prime immediately after flowering or it will die back.

bother, mine is deciduous, there are remnants of the flowers still on the bush, or is it too late to prune this year?

Take a look and see if it has already set next year's buds, they do this mid / late summer.

I will look when the rain has subsided a bit. I may have a chance to do it this week then.
