I’m having an issue with radiators not heating up. I’ve removed the old Drayton valve off one of the rads and the pin is stuck. I’ve removed the small white nut and oiled the pin, it’s now moving but as soon as the nut is screwed in, it seems to wedge the pin down and it no longer moves. Is this type of valve meant to be like this? Many thanks for any help.

The pin should be able to be pushed down, around 2mm, but you will need the shaft of an hammer, or side of a pair of pliers to push it - the spring is quite strong.
