Hi all,

we have had some LVT down on our kitchen floor for ~2 years. Recently we noticed some were failing and buckling at the edges.

We pulled the floor up and some of the tiles were wet and there seems to be moisture underneath.

No obvious leaks (eg the sink and dishwasher areas are the driest as you can see).

Any idea what is going on?

could rain be blowing in through the catflap? Or under the door? Do you know where your stopcock is? Ours started leaking the other day, it was under the cabinets behind the dishwasher

Our friend had the same problem in her kitchen. Solid floor with ceramic tiles. She noticed dampness in the grout in one certain place. Turned out it was a leaking mains pipe. The kitchen was an extension she had built about 30 yeas ago and she knew where the pipe ran. Luckily her nephew is a plumber and he dug a hole outside, cut off the incoming pipe and added a new one and routed that around the side of her house before going into the stopcock in the kitchen. Still took a few weeks or even a month before the grout dried out completely but at least she didn’t have to have her kitchen floor dug up.
