Does anyone know what this pipe is that we discovered after removing a leylandii. Can we remove it with making a flood

Depends if it connected.
Looks like it's old gas maybe. Get digging down the side

A capped off standpipe that used to have a tap for watering the marrows back when people grew veg in their back garden. Dig down carefully to identify the run.
