No one should take a single word Trump says seriously, its obvious that he isn't really in charge.
The plans for the attack on Iran were drawn up long ago, that includes boots on the ground and regime change in Iran.
All Trumps rantings about 48hr deadlines or about the war being already won, are nonsense.
Hegseth has asked Congress for 200billion dollars, that means the war is going escalate and go on for a very long time unless the Iranian government capitulates and surrenders, that scenario doesn't seem likely at the moment.

For a real mess, you need theocracies fighting. Iran has been a theocracy since 1979. Israel has some theocratic aspects. Hegseth and the other “agenda 2025” nutters are trying to make the DoD a theocracy. Attwood’s “Handmaid’s tale” is relevant.

Israel has a good reason for attacking Iran, Trump has no reason other than they deserve it.
 
It is ridiculous that from spring 2027 the army will increase the age for ex soldiers for recall to 65 !!!!! Shows the sorry state the army is in now as the government knows that they will have difficulty getting young blood for the front lines without National service. I can't see them sending anyone over 50 to the front line of any battle field. I wouldn't want to go now at 40 although I feel it is coming, I doubt many are as fit as me at my age so it will be interesting to see how we fair up in the event of recall. Dads army may be the reality of the British army as desperate times are not far away.

I doubt he remembers anything that clearly. He recently confused Iceland with Greenland.
He was convinced that other nations' NATO troops "stayed a little back" in the sandy places, so knows nothing about Sangin.

I think you can mark this one down as a persuasion success for the Israel lobby.
