Please advise me good people. I need to chop through a car control arm. I'm not sure how effective this will be power wise over corded. I am mainly thinking for access.

I’ve got one and it struggles with wood “trees” I rarely use it.

I don’t think it will stand a chance

Angle grinder with metal cutting disc?

PPE inc eye protection.

And make sure the tension in the control arm is safely managed, if not completely released.

Ive got the 18v it's a bit of a beast.

I think I'm going to go with a wickes 850w corded machine for 35 quid. Hopefully it should do the trick. In future it'll be a milwaukee tool I think. Soon I'll be chopping my way through a sleeper, so will need it for thst perhaps

we use these at work to cut through heavy SWA cable, it would easily eat through a control arm.

the big benefit of the sawzall type is being able to get just the blade onto the thing if space is tight but dont only get long blades, having some short ones is often essential as you really need the thing you are cutting to be pressed against the blade guard/surround/base? Metal bit the blade sticks out of. Get a set with various blades and you'll be using it all the time
