I have been using the Google Nest Mini's for around four years now, our VHF radio reception is near enough zero, so it is one of two ways I have to listen to radio, the other is to use the TV. The TV still works OK, but as late the Nest Mini has been repeating a sentence or two, with a gap between the repeat, again and again, and not continuing with the program.

All units seem to have same fault, and we must have around 8 units, as it to play music it works OK, ask it a question like how to spell a word, and they work OK, Spotify works OK, they turn lights on/off, etc. Not a problem, but radio 4 extra seems to have stopped working, and once we ask, to stop it repeating it over and over again, we have to unplug them. Voice commands will not turn them off.

Tried turning off whole house supply, so everything has re-booted, and still the problem exists. But only the radio programs, nothing else.

Any ideas?

You listening to radio 4 on Spotify or other way?

Just looked online.
As of early May 2026, there is a known, widespread issue affecting BBC Radio streams on Google Nest devices, causing them to cut out, loop, or fail to buffer properly. This is an issue currently being investigated by Google and the BBC, rather than a fault with your specific device.

It seems Alexa you need to link it to the BBC sounds app, I will guess the BBC is trying to limit listening to UK only and having to use the app, stops it working outside the UK.

I think it is time to say good by to the BBC, seems they are using sneaky tricks, like buying into UKTV, so people need to pay to watch BBC programs.
