UK starts first vaccine trial, eight weeks into Ebola emergency
The UK medicines regulator has given approval for an experimental vaccine to be tested on healthy adults.
COVID forced us to examine basic assumptions about vaccine development and realise that there was massive room for parallelization and more effective processes.
Now those lessons learnt are being used to develop vaccines for some of the scariest diseases around. Ebola vaccines have been in development for decades, perhaps this time we'll have a usable one.
