Thank you for your post, of the posts my topic received your one was about the only post I drew any kind of help from. I felt demonised in not knowing any different and after getting so far with the house it really knocked the joy off showing people how happy we have been in doing our first house up.
FYI We are hoping to get a light put in the attic in the future and when we have this done (by a different electrician!) we will show him the photos of the lounge wiring and ask him to alter it for him to be able to certify it for us.
Thank you for pointing out the bad bits and giving some tips on how to rectify it, I really appreciate it. I'll think twice about posting any more though, it seems some members are on a moral high ground where there is no excuse for not knowing the same stuff that they might.
