Hi Thanks for the quick reply. It kind of confirms what we thought. The main area affect in the loft is above our bathroom and I think steam may be getting up there. I rang rentokil and they also said it didnt sound like dry rot but they believed it to be salt deposits from condensation. They also recommended ventilation.
