  • Hello boiler gurus,
I have inherited an Ideal Classic (Elan)NF230 boiler with the flat I purchased 2 years ago. Currently the dials on the flexcon external air pressure gauge have seperated..i.e the black hand is heading towards 0 and the red hand has stuck around the 2 mark.
Boiler is heating both water and radiators fine, and otherwise working ok.
I was told by a plumber 2 years ago that if the pressure gauge ever altered slightly, I could turn a screw on an isolating valve slightly to release air pressure. I did this and it worked for 10 seconds then the hands on dial went their seperate ways again, anybody have a clue what is going on is it dangerous? Would this be a costly thing to fix? and how much does servicing an old classic boiler cost these days?
Any input guys would be helpful cheers EB
