  • Get a stop watch. Grasp the gas valve control knob and turn the knob to off position to extinguish pilot and start the stop watch at the same time. You should record over 20 seconds on the stop watch to hear a click from the gas valve.

Send me an email on [email protected] if youwant further insight into how this boiler works.

When you say you have checked the fan and flue system, have you checked the entire length of the inner tube? Have you checked that the inner tube slots into the terminal such that products of combustion are not re-entring the outer tube?

Anyway, if you want answers you have my email.
With no demand on boiler, the pilot flame should be nice and blue in colour, and be steady and not flickering. When you make a demand, the flame should still not flicker like a candle flame and it should still be blue.

Main burner flame will be attached to burners and also be nice and blue in colour. If the flame lifts off the burner, and no longer looks like the flame you see on a gas ring, but like a haze/ flame floating mid air/ no shape to it, I would be looking at flue joints.
Can you say how you replaced the fan?

Did you check to see if the flames are swirling like I suggested?

Fan will run at slow speed when no demand on boiler (that is very important), to then go to high speed when demand applied be it CH or HW.
