    Green laser level

I got the DEWALT DW088CG-XJ green laser level. How do you set it at the right level? I don't have a magnetic doorframe or similar in the room I want to use it. I guess I could get a tripod which is convenient but a tad expensive. Any other clever solutions?

    Green laser level

I'm considering the DeWalt green laser level which is £130 but happy to pay more for extra functionality/accuracy. Can you suggest a couple of options?

Creating a shadow gap at bottom of wall

I don't plan to have skirting boards. I don't know why the unevenness happened. I wasn't around when the job was done. Only some of the shadow gap is uneven but the main problem that i am trying to solve is that it is too big of a shadow gap, about 8mm in places and I would like it to be 2mm or...

Creating a shadow gap at bottom of wall

I had my upstairs re-plastered but unfortunately builder created an uneven shadow gap at the botton of the wall with beeding that' also too large. I'd like to tried to use 3mm ply stripa to create an even gap and fill the remaining gap with bonding plaster but the plaster adhered to the ply...

Filling holes is reclaimed floorboards bedore applying laquer.

I replaced my old floorboards with nicer reclaimed floorboards. I'd like to fill the old nail holes before sanding and applying lacquer. When doing my downstairs floorboards 10 years ago I used 20358 ws jenkins joint filler mixed with fine saw dust. But the half container i have left is...

    Vailant F62 fualt code

I get an F62 fault code on my valiant EcoTec boiler. There are no other gmfult codes apearing. Everything that i read online including on this forum says that its either a gas sensor or gas pleasure problem. I contacted two heating engineers, one of them has serviced my boiler for some years...

    Replastering over lath and plaster

I removed the lath and plaster from this side of the partition a while ago. I removed it because of the cracked in the lath and plaster that formed where the wood frame and brickwork met. It was a big job for me but not impossible. The plan is to board and skim this side. The lath and plaster...

    Replastering over lath and plaster

I had two people come over to quote for a replastering job. The existing walls are lath and plaster and it's cracking in places. One plasterer said to remove and re-plasterboard the walls and overboard the ceiling. The second person also mentioned bonding fiberglass mesh sheet over the existing...

How to connect LED drivers to 220v suply

Gotya. Thanks. So do I need a 12v driver with higher wattage? Or do I need to replace my driver to a 24v one (but then I'll need to replace the led strips also :-0)?

How to connect LED drivers to 220v suply

I followed the advice offered above to the best of my ability. I connected the Mean Well LPV-35-12 driver to the LED strip 2.4m long at the top shelf and if works fine. Looks lovely. I then connected the second LDE strip 2m long in parallel to the driver 12v output - see pic below - using the...

How to connect LED drivers to 220v suply

It's hard for me as a layperson to ensure that an electrician does a good job. Hard to know what I don't know. See below a pick of the wiring at the socket which to me (but I am possibly completely wrong) looks like the flex is grounded at the switch end, and it may be that the wires that you...

How to connect LED drivers to 220v suply

Thanks you! You're the first person to actually answer my question. I think it was done this way to conceal the 230v power feed for each of the shelves. I left the electrician to do this how he saw fit. He could have run 12v wires from the top to middle to bottom shelves to connect to the LEDs...

How to connect LED drivers to 220v suply

It's not a stud wall. it's an external wall. I'm not sure what you mean. All three wires are connected to one switch on opposite wall. Not sure about the junction box and what the electrician do or not do and why. Regarding how to wire the led to existing wiring, any suggestion would be...

How to connect LED drivers to 220v suply

Sorry for the newbie questions. I got three Mean Well 12v drivers and three 12v COB LED strips to light three shelves. As seen in the pic, I have two pairs and one single flexible (220v) connected to a lights switch to power the drivers. Can someone here have a wiring diagram that I can use to...
