    Grinding chisles back into shape

I have a few wrecked chisels and I'm wondering if they could be re-shaped to somehow grind the sharpe edge which is wrecked. It was used by its former owner to cut bricks :-0. I tried to use a course sharpening stone for that to no avail. I don't mind giving it to someone to do this for me but...

Hiding the LED drivers for my floating shelfs

Where would you stash the drivers cables and connections if not inside the shelves?

Hiding the LED drivers for my floating shelfs

I made and installed floating shelves from plywood laminate. The top and bottom ones are 2.4m long. The middle one is 2m long. Shelves are 43mm thick. I have 220v supply pre-installed per shelf. I'd like to hide the drivers in the wall or in the shelves but to still make them accessible enough...

    Honing my chisels

Google search said Google search says water or mineral oil. There are various search results saying one or the other. The Vaunt website says 'use dry or with water'.

    Honing my chisels

So the vaunt stone, is it a water stone or an oil stone? Does anyone know what the manufacturer recommends because there is no information about this on the ITS (Vaunt is an ITS own brand) website.

    Honing my chisels

Thanks for looking into this. I am aware that water can be used with or without washing up liquid. From my limited knowledge, it is best to use water or mineral based lubricant. The questions is what works better?

    Honing my chisels

Something like this? So is it either 3 in 1 oil or the Trend lapping fluid? Is it much of a muchness?

    Honing my chisels

The sharpening stones are new so haven't used them with anything. I bought the Axminster honing fluid to use with the diamond stones but can't find it so I thought I'd get the Trend equivalent for future use. Is this a better option to water and washing up liquid? If so, I won't use water the...

    Honing my chisels

I have the Vaunt Diamond Sharpening Stone Double-Sided but annoyingly, i cant find the honing fluid. I'd like to sharpen my chisels to do a job tomorrow and local shops have the Honing fluid on next day delivery only. Can I use water and washing up liquid as a one off with my sharpening stone...

Recessed LED strip-light on top side of floating shelves

What drivers are reliable and small in size to make it easier to hide? I have 1 length of 2.4 meters so that needs a 24W driver and the other 2 lengths of 2 meters each, so need 20W driver per length.

Recessed LED strip-light on top side of floating shelves

Is it safe (so the driver doesn't over-heat or catch fire) to chase a cavity into the wall behind the shelf (shelf is 44mm thick) and then slide the shell into place so it hides the driver? I can then access the driver by sliding out the self?

Wood drill bits at 0.1 mm incraments

I could use a 12.5 or 12.7 drill bit as you suggest but these won't fit in my drill block used to drill holes that are square. I don't have a pillar drill unfortunately but my drill block will fit a drill bit marginally larger than 12mm hence my idea, albeit daft, to maybe get a 12.2mm drill bit.

Wood drill bits at 0.1 mm incraments

I drilled holes in a solid floating shelf with a 12mm drill bit. The floating shelf bracket 12mm diameter rods are a bit too right and don't go in all the way. I tried to drill again to extend the holes by a bit with some success bit it's still not completely sorted. I thought using 12.2mm bit...

Wood drill bits at 0.1 mm incraments

Decarcle? Amazon don't sell a 12.2mm drill bit for wood. They sell the jobber drill bit but the product description says its for metal. I'm asking here becuase I already make enquiries and could find it. If it bothers you then don't reply

Wood drill bits at 0.1 mm incraments

Can anyone point me in the direction of a retailer that sells drill bits for wood in 0.1 mm increments? Im looking for a 12.2mm drill bit. I found 1 or 2 that are sold for upwards of £70! Is that the going price or do they sell for cheaper? Quote
