A little help with a shopping list....

Haha, they are in a rush then..... I ideally need to get the new boiler install started within the next 6 weeks. I'm not sure I can wait until august/September time :(

A little help with a shopping list....

Aye they are on display at the HIC in Manchester at the end of June which it appears is a bit of a product release, so I figured they must be very close to being on sale. Trouble is, I can't find a definitive date, so I can't keep holding on forever. If I knew I could get one for say the end of...

    Spirotech MB3 or Magnaclean Pro2

Thanks guys. Did quite a bit of reading on some old threads and some other forums last night and it seems a bit of a split decision with the magnaclean just about coming out on top. I'll stick to my original thinking then and buy that:) As always, thanks ever so much guys. Alex

A little help with a shopping list....

Haha got ya! Literally just been looking at the fittings and the gauges. Not an expensive addition really, 2 gauges, 2 tees and the 2 compression to 1/4bsp adapters is about £30, and I can now see why you were doing it, basically to determine what's going in and out of the pressure reducing...

A little help with a shopping list....

Funny you should say that, I opened another thread asking what people thought of the MB3 lol. It's either run a RV2 deaerator and a magnaclean 2, or run an Rv2 and an MB3.

    Spirotech MB3 or Magnaclean Pro2

At the risk of opening a can of worms....... is there a favourite among you? Money wise, there's not much in it. Alex

A little help with a shopping list....

Ah i see, so can basically go within a few feet of the boiler. Gotcha. :) I'll buy the ball valve types I think, the handle always seems a better idea than the screw driver isolation jobs. I think I'll put a drain point next to the tank in the garage as it will be the lowest point in the whole...

A little help with a shopping list....

Okie doke, I am happy to buy good kit, nowt worse than buying tat that won't last. I'll add the spirovent to the list. :) Can this be added onto a spur off the main run of 22 and taken into the loft? Would make getting to it a lot easier. The only reason I said to go for the swept tee was...

A little help with a shopping list....

Brilliant, thanks so much. I'll add those to the list. So did some reading on the spirovent, is it much different to a normal air vent? At £90 compared to £10 for a Honeywell bottle one it's a bit pricey lol. In terms of the air pressure..... I've been using and fitting compressed air for...

A little help with a shopping list....

Had a look at the gauges, cheap as chips so no probs adding them. But how do they get mounted into the valve or do you just for them after and before it?

A little help with a shopping list....

Yeah the vents look a good idea. I presume they get mounted on the furthest part of the system away from the pump? Drain off valves I'll pick up some as well. Obviously to go on the lowest part, but should I put any more in anywhere?

TRVs with automatic bypass? Or open rad?

Thanks for that bud. I'm looking at the Honeywell du144 valve. Any known problems with it? So automatic bypass and a rad without TRV? Have I read that right? Alex

A little help with a shopping list....

Thanks for the advice. :) I'll be testing at 4 bar. If it holds at 4 bar the central heating system should be under that and then *hopefully* not leak haha. Part of the reason I'm looking to use the buteline stuff is because it actually is easier for the DIY installer but at the same time is...

A little help with a shopping list....

Haha yeah I wasn't even going to risk cheap stuff, the rads are over a grand so no point then skimping on the valves..... I was plumping for the Honeywell Valencia packs unless you know of better? :) As for the gauges, that sounds interesting. Never seen any set up with gauges like that, but if...

A little help with a shopping list....

I spoke to the intergas shop the other day and I think we decided on the fitting kit with the rear jig and the expansion tank inside it, unless you can advise of something else? As for the MC3, I'll get some. :) So with regards to the 2 port/3 port set up, a little way down the line I'll be...

A little help with a shopping list....

 When I order the stuff, Richard at evohome is putting me onto a G3 cert installer that knows intergas boilers and evohome set ups. However, I can do a ton of the grunt work myself as I know where most of the new bathroom bits are going etc, and I'll be using buteline piping...
